ZANACO FC HEAD COACH UNVEILED
(First Published 15th February 2009)
Zanaco FC has unveiled it's new Head Coach Wedson Nyirenda.
Nyirenda was officially unveiled by Zanaco FC Vice Chairman
Mr. David Kaunda who is also the Bank's Human Resources
Director. The short but joyous ceremony was held in the
conference room of the 14th Floor at head office. Present
at the ceremony were, the Zanaco FC Executive, press, coaching
staff and the players.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a
branded Zanaco jersey to Nyirenda. The jersey inscribed
with Nyirenda's name on the back was presented to him by
Mr. Kaunda.
Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Kaunda said Zanaco is in the
process of reclaiming its glory days and could not have
picked a better coach for the assignment than Nyirenda who
was recently voted as 2008 coach of the year. He further
added that Nyirenda was not an ordinary coach because his
personality provides leadership to the young players both
on and off the pitch in helping to mould them into better
citizens.
Giving his address at the ceremony, Nyirenda commended his
assistants Numba Mumamba and Kelvin Kaindu who took over
the team at a difficult time when the team was ninth on
the league table but worked hard and finished in a respectable
fourth position. 'I have not brought the league championship
with me but l will get it out of hard work by the players'
he said. Nyirenda also called for discipline and hard work
among the players.
