Baruch is a seasoned financial services and digital banking executive currently serving as the Acting Chief Digital Banking Officer at Zanaco. With 18 years of practice in the financial services industry, he is experienced in driving sustainable transformation in financial services and currently responsible for overseeing the bank’s digital strategy and the development of innovative financial solutions aimed at driving financial inclusion. Throughout his 8 years career at Zanaco, he has played a pivotal role in positioning the bank as a digital leader in the Zambian market through the execution of digital roadmaps that enhance customer experience.
His expertise is reflected in his management and scaling of key digital platforms, including mobile banking and agency banking networks, as well as spearheading the launch of market-first products designed to modernize the digital landscape. Furthermore, his strategic influence extends to the development of Digital Shared Services Limited (DSSL), a subsidiary fintech of Zanaco, where he has helped shape the strategy that will guide the fintech’s operations over the next five years.
Prior to his current appointment, Baruch held several senior leadership positions within Zanaco, including Head of Business Support and Strategy Execution, Cluster Branch Manager, and Branch Sales Manager. His deep industry knowledge is supported by earlier roles at Absa Zambia and Standard Chartered Bank, where he focused on sales and customer relationship management. He is currently Acting Chief Digital Banking Officer.
