Last night we launched Zanaco’s WhatsApp Banking, Chat & Transact, marking a significant milestone for how we continue to respond to the evolving financial habits of our customers and the broader transformation of Zambia’s digital economy.

Our Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Mukwandi Chibesakunda noted that the launch of WhatsApp Banking is in line with Zanaco’s promise to put our customers First; meeting our customers where they are, simplifying how they bank, and delivering solutions that fit seamlessly into their everyday lives.

In remarks delivered on behalf of the Minister of Finance Mr. Stitumbeko Musokotwane, Acting Permanent secretary Economic Management and Finance Mr. Akapelwa Imwiko noted that such customer centered innovation and digital financial services play a critical role in advancing financial inclusion, supporting micro, small and medium sized enterprises, improving payment efficiency, and lowering transaction costs across the economy.

The event was also graced by senior management from Visa; Michael Berner, Group Country Manager: Southern and Eastern Africa, Salome Makau, Cluster Manager: Central Southern Africa, Vinesh Ramnarain, VP Product and Solutions: Sub-Saharian Africa and Amon Magunje Country Manager: Zambia.

Through Coco, our secure chatbot available on WhatsApp, customers can now check balances, transfer funds, pay bills, purchase airtime, and access instant support—anytime and anywhere—without visiting a branch or downloading an additional banking application.
