Mr. Mathews Tembo is the Chief Digital Banking Officer of the Bank. He is a seasoned Telecommunications and Financial Services Executive with extensive skill sets in Sales and Distribution, Mobile Money Operations, Alternate Channels and Digitisation. Mathews has held several senior management roles in the Telecommunications and Financial Services industry including Airtel Zambia as Zonal Business Manager where he steered growth of the Copperbelt Region and secured various awards in ICTs Category and MTN as Senior Manager Sales and Marketing where he was instrumental in building strong distribution Infrastructure, growing revenue market share for Northern and Lusaka Regions.
As Head Indirect Sales, Mathews set up from the greenfield, a Sales Department for Vodafone Zambia, defining sales and acquisition plans, mapping customer journey processes and touch points, and recruiting distribution partners. Prior to Joining Zanaco, he served as Head of Alternate Channels at Stanbic, executing the Bank’s Digital and Alternate Channels agenda. Until his current appointment, he was Head Digital Sales, responsible for strategy development and execution for Zanaco Agency Banking, Zanaco Xpress, Merchant Acquiring and Customer Acquisitions. Mathews holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors in Marketing from Greenwich University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and a Mini MBA in Telecoms.
